The MSA are happy to partner with RIBA North West EDI committee and CIAT North West to organise an upcoming exhibition exploring how architecture can support and continue to improve equity, diversity and inclusion in the built environment. In order to make this happen we need your stories!
We know that spaces around us shape how we live, move, gather and feel we belong. There are inspiring examples of design that actively enable inclusion and there are also opportunities where we can learn and do better.
This exhibit is about learning, reflection and progress and your voice is an essential part of that.
Have you experienced a space that worked particularly well for you? Or somewhere that highlighted how design could evolve to better support people’s needs?
We are inviting user testimonials to help us build a richer, more human understanding of how design is experienced in everyday life, to inform the exhibition.
We’re especially keen to hear from people with lived experience of:
- Access requirements/ disabled lived experience
- Neurodivergence and sensory environments
- Safety and comfort in public spaces
- Cultural representation and belonging
- Economic or social barriers
Your perspective will help highlight what good looks like and where thoughtful improvements can make a real difference.
This is about celebrating progress, sharing lessons learned and inspiring a more inclusive design in the future.
We welcome contributions from everyone, RIBA members, non-members and the wider community – because creating inclusive places is a shared and collaborative responsibility.
To share your experience (anonymous or attributed), please email them to raluca.anghelina@riba.org
Together we can help shape a build environment where everyone feels considered, supported and able to belong.
The initiative is proudly sponsored by VELUX.
