Bluesky Architects are seeking a Graduate Architectural Technologist to join our growing design practice.
Bluesky is a uniquely skilled design team working on projects across the health, education, blue light (including specialist ballistic training facilities) and commercial sectors.
We have a strong reputation with Tier 1 contractors and clients across these sectors for delivering creative design solutions, whilst supporting the commercial and budget realities of our clients.

You will work as part of our experienced team of RIBA Architects and Lead CIAT Technologists. You will work across different sectors on projects ranging from £1million to £40 million, with an emphasis on Public Sector projects.

Job Summary
This role supports a range of projects across a variety of sectors such as blue light, ballistics, healthcare, and education.
Main Duties and Key Responsibilities
Working with RIBA Job Stages 0-7.
Working with the Lead Architectural Technologist and Lead Project Architect to:
- Identify client’s business cases, strategic briefs, and other core project requirements and advising the client on the practicality of their project.
- Develop project objectives, including quality objectives, and project outcomes.
- Develop project briefs, feasibility studies and reviews of site information. Assess and request relevant site survey information.
- Prepare concept and developed designs including all BIM outputs and information, outline specifications and other supporting information, along with relevant project strategies in accordance with design programme. Eliminate, reduce and manage all significant risks within your design proposals.
- Prepare technical designs to include all architectural information and specialist subcontractor design and specifications.
- Specifying the nature and quality of materials required.
- Preparing tender applications and presentations.
- Negotiating with contractors and other professionals.
- Preparing applications for planning and building control applications.
- Keep all projects within financial budgets and deadlines.
- Regular site visits to check on progress and quality, ensuring that the project is running on time and to budget.
- Resolving problems and issues that arise during construction.
- Ensuring that the environmental impact of the project is managed.
Key Skill / Experience Requirements
- BSc (hons) Architectural Technology or equivalent
- Basic Construction Knowledge and Knowledge of Building Regulations
- Proficient Revit/BIM and AutoCAD abilities are essential.
- Excellent presentation skills
- Excellent design skills
- Knowledge of Photoshop and In Design publishing software
- Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- A good team player who is willing to support the wider team
