We have an opportunity for a talented Qualified Architect to join our award-winning profession group based in our Manchester studio who are working on the delivery of a number of exciting projects in the Science and Technology sector.  The successful candidate will be expected to take a role in the project team, making a significant contribution in the delivery of those projects.

About you

Reporting directly to your Architect Director you will contribute strategically in the laboratory planning, programming and delivery of various-sized academic teaching, research and biotech facilities.

You will provide design and technical planning experience and leadership in that context, carrying out tasks such as brief development and 1:500 General Arrangement design; 1:200 fit-out planning, equipment planning, outline and detailed specifications (preferably in NBS Chorus) and ultimately the development of detailed construction packages for a range of laboratory fit outs.

You will also lead the engineering co-ordination process with other professionals and disciplines from both inside and outside of the practice to deliver a highly coordinated design.

You will have the following attributes demonstrable within the Science & Technology Sector:

Be a passionate and dedicated ARB Senior Qualified Architect with extensive post qualification experience in the design and delivery of a range of large complex Laboratory projects.Have a portfolio demonstrating excellent design skills
Have the relevant experience in the delivery of large and complex projects
Be skilled at dealing with clients, contractors and package sub-contractors to deliver a high quality product
Be able to work effectively and collaboratively with people at all levels and from all backgrounds and deliver to tight deadlines
Have experience which includes working within large design teams from across a range of disciplines including, for example, building services engineers, lighting and acoustics
Have excellent leadership skills and communication skills, verbally, non-verbally, graphically and in writing; strong presentation skills are essential.
Possess strong technical and IT skills, having experience in delivering high profile projects within BIM design environments. Experience in Revit is preferred.
