Designing for Wellbeing & Neurodiversity: The Role of Daylight in Human-Centred Buildings

16 April 2026 @ 6:00 pm

As the profession shifts towards healthier, more inclusive buildings, architects are increasingly being asked to design for wellbeing and neurodiverse users.

Daylight plays a critical role in this – shaping circadian rhythm, visual comfort, sensory experience and overall environmental quality.

This MSA Live CPD explores how daylight and glazing strategies intersect with neurodiversity and human-centred design, moving beyond compliance towards genuinely responsive architecture.

Through short technical talks and a moderated panel discussion, we’ll explore:

  • How daylight affects wellbeing and cognitive experience
  • Designing for neurodiversity and sensory comfort
  • Balancing daylight with glare, overheating and performance
  • The role of roof and vertical glazing in shaping experience

This is a design-led, technical CPD, delivered by the MSA as part of the 2026 CPD Programme and is focused on real-world application – not product promotion. This event is designed to support the RIBA Core Curriculum and can contribute a minimum of 2 CPD hours towards the annual requirement.
